G&E Roofing Company was founded in 1975 by Norman Elvin in Augusta, Maine. Since our early years, we have become one of the most well respected roofing contractors in the Northeast, building upon the basics of our success – quality, safety, service and value. We continually strive to be on the leading edge of innovation within the roofing industry, working to provide our customers with the best choices of roofing products and services. We also strive to provide our employees with a safe, healthy workplace that provides opportunities for development and advancement.
In 1993, G&E Roofing was selected as nationwide Roofing Contractor of the Year by Roofing/Siding/Insulation (RSI) magazine, the largest publication in the roofing industry. Other awards we have been honored to receive include the President’s Award from the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Eagle Feather Award from Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility and the Navigator Award from the Maine Chamber and Business Alliance. Most recently, G&E Roofing was awarded Business of the Year for 2006 from the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce and selected as one of five recipients for the prestigious Governor’s Award for Business Excellence for 2006.
Our success is shared with the local community. Charitable corporate donations and volunteer time from our employees help to support a wide range of organizations, including various youth athletic programs, United Way agencies and local churches, among others.
